Westphal’s experience extends from neighborhood to city level
Second Ward residents, please join us on August 5, voting for Kirk Westphal for City Council. Kirk’s education and professional background—in economics and urban planning—give him the skill set we need on Council. And while he gets the big picture, Kirk understands we need to make our great neighborhoods even better by improving local parks, calming traffic, getting our roads back in shape, and improving service delivery where needed. He will excel as an advocate for neighborhood concerns, as he did as Chair and board member of his neighborhood association for many years. Kirk’s experience in City government, on the Planning and Environmental Commissions, gives him an understanding of how City government works that will make him the most effective voice for the Second Ward.

Long-term thinking on Westphal’s agenda
As the only Second Ward candidate for Council who supported the transit mileage, Kirk Westphal understands the energy saving and environmental importance of improved local transportation. He is also the only Second Ward candidate with Ann Arbor governmental experience in his years on the planning and environmental commissions. Kirk thinks long term knowing that the city needs revenue to maintain our parks, roads and services at the level we require.
A vote for Kirk is a vote to strengthen our City Council as it plans for the future and he has ours.
